Karachi likely to receive first winter rain next week

According to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the country is to embrace a cold week with its first winter rain forecast predicted across the country, starting today (Sunday).

With the reports by PMD for Sunday, a westerly wave is prevailing in the country and will initially begin from the upper and central regions of the country till Wednesday. Whereafter the cold wind and shower is to be seen hitting the lower regions and Karachi mostly.

Till then, mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country for the next 24 hours. However, rain-thunderstorm with snowfall over the hills is greatly predicted at isolated places in Mirpur Khas, Sukkur divisions, northeastern Balochistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

So, get ready Karachiites for yet another cold winter wave this year and jacket up for that rainy week ahead!
