2017 was quite an interesting year for our cinema, there were highs and lows to some extreme points.. remember the ban on Indian content? Cinema owners bared crises and our audience wasn’t really prepared for Pakistani content before the release of some interesting movies like PNJ and NMA2 (they both released and clashed on the big screen).

The year started with a hope of some amazing movies which were to be screened – Chalay Thay Saath followed by few movies which couldn’t do well – like Raasta and Chain Aye Naa. Overall 2017 was a great year as we got the highest grossing movie of Pakistan till date and that is ‘Punjab Nahi Jaungi’. The top five movies of 2017 were:
