Washing your hair too often can be damaging

We have been hearing since childhood that shampooing less often is better for your hair.  Experts say there’s no single answer to how often people should shampoo. You may not need to do it as often as you think. It usually comes down to personal preference. For guidance, take a look at your hair type and styling choices.

The idea behind this? Shampooing too often may lead to hair that’s less than lush. Only a small group needs to shampoo daily, like those with very fine hair, someone who exercises a lot (and sweats), or someone living in very humid place. Well considering these I guess we Karachiites definitely need to wash our hair often due to the extreme humid weather.

It may seem that this helps your hair to stay clean and healthy, but sorry ladies, you may actually be doing more harm to your tresses than good.  Washing hair frequently takes away the natural texture and shine of the hair faster, making it look dull. If you have already dry hair, you do not need to wash hair daily or even every other day because daily washing will make it really dry and coarse.

Hygiene is good but over doing the hair routine can be damaging for the roots and scalp. Since washing your hair too often can dry your hair out, it can leave it more vulnerable to breakage.
