Why can’t we learn to respect our own legends

Recently we witnesses a very unpleasant saga of events where Ali Azmat used very degrading and insulting words for the legendary music maestro Madan Noor Jahan. Ali received a major back lash and netzines and celebrities stood up against the un called for remarks by Ali.

Ali had shamelessly targeting Madam Noor Jahan’s looks and choice of style which was totally not acceptable. Later on after the news got viral he came up with a statement justifying his statement but unfortunately most of us ae not buying the lame excuse.

Amid all this drama, the T20 World Cup started and Pakistani cricket team left the entire nation with an air of joy and pride by winning back to back matches. Right when the nation was celebrating Pakistan’s big win against New Zealand, an other unpleasant incident happened during a live show on our national television.

One of Pakistan’s best cricketer Shoaib Akhtar became part of a controversy after he walked out of a TV show following disagreements with the host Nauman Niaz. During the live special show for T20 World Cup on PTV News, Shoaib Akhtar resigned’ as a cricket analyst of the respective channel and walked off after anchor Dr Nauman Niaz., insulting him on a live show by calling him ‘rude’ and added that he is ‘free to go’ if he wants to.

We have often witnessed politicians insulting each other on live tv spoiling Pakistan’s reputation. What I fail to understand is why cant we simply respect each other! These are the legends of Pakistan and have spent their lives in making the entire nation hold their heads high in pride. Be in the music legend , sports person or anyone for that matter we must respect all and refrain from passing degrading remarks and making a joke out of our own selves in front of the entire world.
