“Glenn Frey”, The founding member of the most successful bands of all time, Eagles, has passed away at the age of 67 on Monday, January 18th, 2016, in New York City. He was fighting a courageous battle for the past couple of years, and was suffering from rheumatoid arthritis as well as ulcerative colitis and pneumonia.
In a statement, Henley (a member of eagles) said, “Frey was like a brother to me; we were family and like most families, there was some dysfunction”. The bond we forged 45 years ago was never broken, even during 14 years that the Eagles were dissolved, Henley wrote. With other musicians and our manager, Irving Azoff we built something that has lasted longer than anyone could have ever dreamed, but “Frey” was the one who started it all.
Azoff, the one who has managed Eagles for most of their career, stated on monday, Frey was always telling people “When you’re in the music business, you’ve got to have your music right and you’ve got to have your business right. He had incredible instincts. He wasn’t just an incredible writer, singer and musician, I don’t know of a better family man, or father. He has just gone too soon.”
Rest in peace, Glenn Frey, you will be missed.
