Irrfan Khan is keen to play the role of a woman on screen

Irrfan Khan revealed that filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia had offered him to play the role in ‘Revolver Rani’, which later went to Kangana Ranaut.

The actor said that he had almost joined the project, but did not take up the offer due to “intimate scenes” in the film.

“I was offered the role of a woman in Tigmanshu Dhulia’s ‘Revolver Rani’. He had offered me Kangana Ranaut’s role when he was producing the film. I had made up my mind to do it. But there were some intimate scenes that I thought people will not enjoy,” Irrfan told.

“I would love to play a woman on-screen. But I am not ok with intimate scenes as that might put audience off,” he adds.

In his upcoming film, “Hindi Medium” Irrfan’s plays a businessman who owns a saree shop in Delhi’s Chandni Chowk.

One of the scenes in the film required Irrfan’s character to wear a saree and he learnt the complexity of draping to make his performance look perfect.

“It was a great experience. It was fun,” he adds.

“Hindi Medium” which also features Pakistani actress Saba Qamar is slated to release on May 12.
