Tips for Taking Care of Your Skin in Winter

Winter can be damaging, harsh, uncomfortable and sometimes it can be painful. At the same time there are some amazing skincare products out there that helps us fight against damaging skin and keeping our skin healthy, happy and glowing through the whole winter.

Before applying any product it is always important to know your skin type. Using wrong products can worsen acne, dryness or other problems.

Building a daily skin care routine in winter is must. It can help you in maintaining your skin health and also helps to cope up any skin problem. Few are the basic steps that you can follow (for all skin types):


  1. Cleansing: Washing your face in winters can make it dry so always choose a cleanser that does not makes your skin feel tighter after washing. If you have a very dry skin avoid applying makeup.
  2. Serums: Serums containing vitamin C or peptides would do wonders to your skin if used in the morning, under sunscreen. At night retinol can be the best option.
  3. Moisturizer: Even if your skin is oily it needs moisturizer, but lightweight or gel-based. It is quite important to apply moisturizer immediately after washing your face so that it can lock in as much moisture as possible.
  4. Sunscreen: sunscreen is not just for summers. Most of us stop using a sunscreen in winters but applying a sunscreen is just as important during winter to protect your skin from those harmful UVs. It’s important to apply sunscreen with at least 30 SPF 15 minutes before leaving. People with darker skin tones needs more sun protection due to hyper pigmentation.
